The position of the Millwork Installer/Service Technician is vital to the growth and sustainability of the Company as it provides personal service to our customers by installing and servicing a wide range of millwork products.

Must have clean driving record and be able to pass a drug screen, physical, and background check.

3 to 5 years of window/door installation experience preferred. Ready to go and install!

The position of the Millwork Installer/Service Technician is vital to the growth and sustainability of the Company as it provides personal service to our customers by installing and servicing a wide range of millwork products.

Ensures that all safety procedures are performed in compliance with the Company’s safety policies and all federal, state, and local laws & regulations and attends monthly safety meetings.

Complies with EPA RRP Lead Renovation regulations and Company procedures along with maintaining current lead renovation certificationEstablishes service by studying system requirements, gathering components and parts, completing installation, and performing acceptance testing

o Storm windows/doors installation and repair

o Glass replacement

o Installation of windows and/or doors to include parts or trim replacements

o Cladding of windows and garage doors

Serves existing accounts by analyzing work orders, adhering to daily travel schedule, investigating complaints, conducting tests, and resolving problemsMaintains rapport with customers by examining complaints, identifying solutions, suggesting improved methods and techniques, and recommending system improvementsTroubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairsDocuments service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and recordsCollects monies from the customer and follows proper cash flow procedures

Position Title:                Millwork Installer/Service Technician

Position Purpose:     

 The position of the Millwork Installer/Service Technician is vital to the growth and sustainability of the Company as it provides personal service to our customers by installing and servicing a wide range of millwork products.

We are looking for someone who can fix doors and windows.  Who has the ability to problem solve.  With prior clad and glazier experience.  More than 50% of the time this person will be will be replacing glass.

 Essential Functions:

  • Supports the Company’s mission, vision, and core values
  • Ensures that all safety procedures are performed in compliance with the Company’s safety policies and all federal, state, and local laws & regulations and attends monthly safety meetings
  • Complies with EPA RRP Lead Renovation regulations and Company procedures along with maintaining current lead renovation certification
  • Establishes service by studying system requirements, gathering components and parts, completing installation, and performing acceptance testing

  • Maintains rapport with customers by examining complaints, identifying solutions, suggesting improved methods and techniques, and recommending system improvements
  • Maintains high standards of quality workmanship in accordance with ODW standards
  • Keeps equipment operating effectively by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs
  • Documents service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records
  • Maintains customer confidence by keeping service information confidential
  • Collects monies from the customer and follows proper cash flow procedures
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading vendor/supplier publications
  • Help other Installers/Technicians with problems and help train new hires as needed
  • Maintains day-to-day communication with the Millwork Sales Manager, Installation Manager, Scheduler, and Inventory Department personnel
  • Take before and after photos of installation and text or email photos for the Company Marketing Department

 Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required to Perform the Duties of the Job:

  • Ability to read blueprints and technical specifications
  • Proficient in the use of hand tools

  • Technical skills including applications used by the Company (i.e., timekeeping, credit card payments, etc.)

 Educational/Experience Requirements Needed to Perform the Duties of the Job:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Ten (10) years of Construction experience or related trade
  • Millwork experience is preferred
  • Proficiency in computer programs such as Microsoft Office
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with good driving record
  • Must be able to pass (post-offer) background check, drug screen, and physical
  • Availability to be on-call after hours and on weekends

 Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None

 Supervision Received:

  • Direct supervision from Millwork Installation Manager

 Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent lifting of up to 100 pounds
  • Near vision and far vision necessary and the ability to adjust focus
  • Good hearing and continuous verbal (speaking) communication
  • Frequent reaching requirements of out, overhead, and low (below knees)
  • Must be able to do occasional sitting and continuous standing
  • Must be able to climb stairs, and ladders
  • Good dexterity of fingers/hands
