Warehouse Specialist

Omaha Door & Window is the oldest & largest new and replacement door & window company in the Omaha metro area.

The Warehouse Specialist is responsible for assisting the Warehouse Lead in performing a variety of responsibilities in handling incoming and outgoing shipments, unloading and loading trucks, and filling purchase orders. It is also responsible for the general housekeeping duties for the Warehouse.

Essential Functions:

· Supports the Company’s mission, vision, and core values

· Ensures that all safety procedures are performed in compliance with the Company’s safety policies and all federal, state, and local laws & regulations and attends monthly safety meetings

· Assists in Receiving

o Unloads product and materials from trucks

o Sorts and places materials/products on racks, shelves, or bins according to predetermined procedures

o Handles space arrangements for incoming shipments

o Checks products for damage or defects

o Verifies accuracy of orders by matching them with quantities and types

· Assists in Shipping

o Reads customer orders, work orders, shipping orders or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed and/or shipped

o Follows packaging procedures to ensure safety of shipment

o Loads installer’s vehicles with items to be delivered to customers

· Operates pallet jack to transport shipments

· Assists customers and installers when help is needed

· Assists sales personnel as needed

· Assists with inventory counts and assessments

· Helps with doors and unloads windows as needed

· Completes product deliveries as necessary

· Delivers job tickets to departments detailing work and time amounts

· Ensures warehouse is cleaned and housekeeping guidelines are maintained at all times

· Responsible for facilities maintenance duties as needed (i.e., snow removal)

· Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required to Perform the Duties of the Job:

· Ability to operate a pallet jack

· Strong communication and customer service skills

· Strong attention to detail

· Effective skills of listening, verbal, and written communication

Educational/Experience Requirements Needed to Perform the Duties of the Job:

· High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

· Must be able to pass (post-offer) background check, drug screen, and physical

· Must possess a valid driver’s license

Physical Requirements:

· Frequent lifting of 25 to 100 lbs

· Near vision and far vision necessary and the ability to adjust focus

· Good hearing and continuous verbal (speaking) communication

· Frequent reaching requirements of out, overhead, and low (below knees)

· Must be able to do continuous standing and occasional sitting

· Must be able to climb stairs, ladders, and others

· Good dexterity of fingers/hands

Working Conditions:
